I'm reasonably ok with it. The noises from him are that he'll try and get Everton on the ball when it's possible.
I also think he's going to be very short term, so there's no reason to get worked up about him.
Personally, it all depends how it really is. And I will never know.
If he’s here to add another name to his cv full of rescue jobs at clubs that went down the next year then no, this is not really good.
If he’s here because he actually can’t believe he is in charge of Everton and this is the last chance that has been gifted to him and he’s 100% committed to the club for the long haul, then fine, nothing I can do.
I actually never minded Allardyce at all ever, prior to the England thing. I just remember thinking what an idiot. I don’t think he has a particular style of play, I think he works with what he’s got.
That said, me and you could have managed the club for the last two games and probably got the same results. He’ll take credit for that if we go on an amazing run. I read in the match report that he’d apparently sorted out the defence straight away. With that sort of touch it’s a wonder he turned down the Real Madrid job so many times.
