Dinosaur football apparently though. Any fool can do it supposedly. Best form in the prem (aside from City) over the last 6 games with an injury ravaged squad that was 4th from bottom when he got it. He couldn’t have had a better start yet there are still the holier than thou purists who expect him to take the likes of Williams DCL Martina and in a few training sessions have them dominating Liverpool and Chelsea.

Fortunately unlike some of our previous managers this one lives in the real world where results are king. If he gets a similar return from the next 6 then we’re in for a good second half of the season.

Whilst I have my doubts whether this is a shrewd appointment long term, to go from being this season's Villa to comfortably in the top half of the table in the space of a few weeks is remarkable. Big Sam takes all the credit for that in my opinion. The improvement in the likes of Williams, Gueye, Martina and Sigurdsson who had all been having poor/non existent seasons proves the big impact he has had.

I wasn't for his appointment but he's lifted a few heads, got a few points and seems to have told the lads who's boss. With so many divas nowadays you need a strong no nonsense manager.

One thing he's got that Moyes, Martinez or Koeman didn't have is a plan B. That in itself is awe-inspiring!

Long term time will tell, for the here and now it could be worse.

To be honest i can watch his press conferences all day, i was conpletely against appointing him off the strength of the idea that hiring him solidifies we are in a relegation battle which i was in serious denial about

I was very wrong, he is a good manager and I couldnt think of many that could have pulled offnthis turnaround in this short a period of time

Speaking of press conferences in the post Chelsea conference he asked if anybody had questions about west brom at the end and nobody did, did he do this because he won’t be holding one prior to the match?

Plan A - keep them out
Plan B - still keep them out

I’m convinced some people would rather us finish in 12th ‘playing the right way’ than finish 7th with this current brand of ‘awful’ football, as if they’re the ambassadors of beautiful football and they’re morally superior because they don’t like us picking up points in the fashion we’re currently doing. “Honest to god lad I’m embarrassed the way we’re playing lad we should have taken the game to an in form Liverpool away from home lad and against Chelsea when we had a full team of injuries lad Sam’s got to go lad”.

Get over yourselves. It’s pathetic. How anyone can moan given the injury list, how terrible we were before Sam came in and the fact he’s been here for a matter of weeks is just unreal. Some people have extremely short memories because we were almost certainly going down if we’d kept playing the way we were under Koeman and Unsworth.

We have the worst cry arse fans in the league by a distance. Complete and utter cry babies.

This 100%

Only day 27 in Big Sam's reign.

Credit where credit is due.

Give the man a chance.

Thing is, the majority of play isn't hoof, it's only really against Liverpool and Chelsea where we have 'resorted' to sitting back and hoping for a counter. A lot of the goals we have scored have been played out from the back with plenty of fluid passing.

But lets ignore all of that because we sat back against the current Champions and one of the most potent attacking clubs in the country.

Had the privilege of speaking to Big Sam briefly before the Swansea match.

He spoke so proudly of being appointed Everton manager, saying what an honour it was etc.

Top bloke.

If your opinion of him is based on saying a few words to him, let's hope that some West African fella doesn't phone you later for a brief chat, about upgrading your bank account.

Posted on the match thread this is a crucial game for him.
Every game so far has been crucial for him. Actually....every game from now till the end of his tenure is crucial for him in many fans eyes.
Poor bloke gets a hiding for drawing against top 4 sides, He gets a hiding for wins too...as the style of win just wasnt attractive enough...??!!??
With this injury strewn, Lopsided, mess of a side that he inherited from the last clueless manager...yeah, we should be tearing it up.

Far from an exact science, but if our form since he was brought in (not including the West Ham game - though personally I think he probably had a hand in that) had been replicated over the entire season so far, we’d currently be sat 2nd on 42pts, level with Utd
