The only positive I can see is that he's promised to reschedule it if they do well over Christmas, which should hopefully motivate them

I loved his reaction when Rooneys pen went in. Everyone else is celebrating towards the fans, and Big Sam turns the other way, hopefully in Klippertys direction, with a contented look on his face.

Koeman would be playing golf in the 5 day break. Allardyce is probably drilling the defensive master plan required for the Chelsea game.

Cancelling the Xmas party, having a one to one with the players , to see whose up for it, it seems there has been a few bad apples, good on him.

I reckon it's just the usual headline grabbing stuff we all jump on, same as the '1-2-1s'. He's probably just turned the mulled wine down a notch and banned kissing under the cameltoe.

Christmas pud and turkey play no part in Dr Allardyce's school of science. Despite his laid-back persona he's an obsessive about fitness and diet, stats, algorithms etc. I've just read his book. Very good.
