To be fair, the media love an easy story full of easily recognisable good and bad guys. And the fall of Sam at Everton is an easy one to write. A few easy back pages in the lull during the end of a predictable season and the world cup starting in earnest.

Let the City Liverpool game play out and we'll probably see some more of this.
