My father-in-law is a Baggies fan and he said he'll be a great signing. Said that although he only got about 8 each season at WBA, he bullies defenders and creates space for other players. I remember he used to rave about him when he was there and was gutted when Newcastle activated his release clause.

For the money involved I think it's a good signing and he will want to do well for Benitez.

Mind you, he also thinks Johnstone is a terrible keeper. Says he's a good shot stopper and that's about it. Apparently costs them a goal most games!

Eh, it's a sizeable loss for them on paper, but he's older and Venezuela is unlikely to qualify and their "winnable" games are toss-ups pretty much. It's unlikely to make much of a difference for them

I like the signing..thought he was a good player last time I saw him play in the PL. And I trust the manager’s football nous over anyone’s on a footie forum...I hope he goes well. Gray and Townsend seem to be doing ok
