I'd rather this sort of signing to appease a manager than the likes of Tosun, Kone etc that cost actual money.

I'd rather sign a young player to develop than a veteran who is well past his best and had gone off to play in China.

The whole point of the DOF model is to sign players who fit a system and culture, not favourites of the incumbent manager.

All the more reason for brands to go now. Too much influence from managers. The whole point of the DoF is to create a consistent strategy. That has not happened in the slightest while he's been here.
