I think we’d be in an even worse position with FFP if that had gone through. Just because Moshiri is willing to continue recklessly spending doesn’t mean that we are allowed to do it. We’ll be punished.

I get what you are saying, but you are assuming that Moshiri is a logical individual who views the situation rationally, and that he has a board underneath him who will tell him when he is wrong. I am doubtful on both of those things.

I suspect in the big picture he knows we need to be seen to be making an effort to comply, but he could easily impulsively make a move wholly at odds with that.

Oh I fully agree. I think he is an irresponsible and reckless owner.

Mate, even the biggest Rafael-fanboy @Theoneandonly acknowledges that we had no dough and all of those deals were contingent on outgoings that didn't happen. We didn't sign anyone because, as everyone could see, we were broke. We've got a little more wiggle room because of Kean and James but, in reality, any deals in January will be funded by the loss of Digne. We're still broke.

Pretty much, deals in January depend on Digne and others like Mina leaving.

We may have some money free from the James transfer, but how much is unknown. I suspect that money will be involved in the Mykolenko deal.

That is cool, I am more than happy to own that one, as I did straight away, We tried with the South American kid and Dumfries and Patterson, it just never happened. But we did actually try to, much as you deny it

We did try, but it wasn't an outright bid.

The Dumfries deal was a lot of haggling and clauses in our part, before they put the price up, then we tried to unsuccessfully loan him at the last minute.

Which South American kid are you talking about.

I'm not sure on the Patterson deal. It seems we enquired about him, then we made an offer well below his value. That's as far as it got.

Diaz - I thought you old know about that.....

As for Patterson, we bid more than his perceived value, Slippy diver was not having it - I thought you would know about that....

Intrigued you don’t recall ‘ the South American kid’ , it was a fairly recent story that was heavily commented on in this forum and elsewhere amongst Evertonians.
I assume you weren’t following Everton at that point?

It's through my fingers that I look, but I'm hideously fascinated to see what 17 days off and the holiday feasting has done to him.

If only we had a brown second kit, he had dyed his hair red and we has a festive fixture, it would have been like watching a slow moving Christmas pudding play football. Just an idea for next season Hummel.

He'll be fuming that today's match hasn't been called off. He's been doing a paella-thon with friends and family since the 19th and was about to break Great Great Grand Pa Pa Rondons 14 day record but Benitez called him in last night and told him to sweat off the excess 3 stone in the sauna.

I imagine him sitting on the subs bench and the player's at the other end of the bench being catapulted into the sky.

I'm only joking, he'll start.

I'd ring in sick with Covid if I was the big fella. Any auld galoot can rock up for a top level pro game of football, but how many of us have the talent to still be shovelling in paella after 14 days?

Keep scoffing big lad, I can't wait to see your beaming face in the 2023 Guinness Book of Records next Christmas.

His whole head covering the first 8 pages of thr book, little kids thinking it's some bonus giant pull out poster.

There'll be a lot of upset kids when they realise they've just ripped up page upon page of their new GBOR 2023 edition

People in here were all convinced that him, andros and gray were on 100+, I pointed out that it would be jess then 50k and seems that is correct

According to a ropey website, that has no affiliations with any of the clubs, the League, any of the players accountants, in fact - anyone with any insight into the CONFIDENTIAL information required.

Yeh, these made up huge wages were being used as another anti-rb agenda. It’s nice to see them quashed tbh

They're not though are they.
