toffeestillidie

Player Valuation: £35m
How much did we buy him for? i was under the impression it was a free transfer cos Sir Alex ripped up his contract, but the OS says we got him for an "undisclosed fee"

The number 2M comes to mind but I'm sure that was just hearsay.

I really don't know what we paid for him.

Manure didnt pay the full Rooney transfer fee when they took him. There was a lot of add ons ie them winning the League, Champions League, how many goals and appearences etc. Did they give us some of their fringe players instead of the full ammount? Just a thought.

I was under the impression that we only paid United if we got a decent run out of Saha. I remember quite clearly people saying it was free if he didn't play, I doubt it was much because at United he had so much bad luck with injuries Sir Alex probably just wanted to get shot of him.

Pretty much in the same way we just want to get shot of Andy Van Der Meyde.

Exactly. MU wanted to get Silvestre and Saha out of their salaries, so they've sold Silvestre for 750k and initially got Saha for norhing, with add on is in future.

Here is a comment by DM soon after the transfer was announced - "There will be some money after he’s played some games, but there is no initial outlay and he has to play before we pay. He has had his injury problems, but if he had been playing every game, we wouldn’t be getting him for next to nothing."

I believe that exact price to pay down the road wasn't ever mentioned...

He does say next to nothing though, so TX Bill's ball park Figure of 2 million is probably about right.

Im sure he has to start somthing like 20 odd games in the season before we pay any money.

Iv probably pulled that out my arse anyway!!

By the way.........

Zero,.................. spounge bob EVERTON pants.

Classic mate!!

He's a class act.

If we can keep him fit he'll be a great player for us. With Yak out hopefully he can take his chance. He's already been involved in 13 games which isn't bad.

I don't think we've paid anything for him yet. I think he has to play a certain amount of games before we pay anything.

Thats what I thought, in terms of figures havent got a clue how much in how many games though

All I can say is he can go missing for the majority of a game then bang in a spell can ansolutely put the game up side down. He has great talent we just need to tap into his go get it attitude for greater stretches of the game. As far as his good heartedness that just can't be beat pay as I play he is a winner in my book. I think as more games he gets under his belt he will be one of better signings.

I think the deal was if he barely played we wouldn't have had to pay anything but if he did play we'd have to pay a bit but not much. He's an excellent player when fit, there's no doubt about that but there have been doubts about his fitness & when we signed him I remember thinking that the terms of the deal took away any fitness-related risks

I think that was mainly down to fitness. When he first came in he wasn't getting involved enough and was making stupid decisions.

Against Boro, Wigan and Spurs though his all round game has improved dramtically. Some of his hold up play, touches and lay offs have been superb. His movement is very good aswell.

I'm a massive fan, I'd even say he's as good as Yak and I'm a massive fan of Yakubu.

According to FM, we must make 2 payments of 1m each, when he plays a certain amount of games, they are normally spot on with regards to fees, most of the time anyway.
