The bikini thing is a complete embarrassment, as they don’t appear to realise that the ad that was banned for body shaming, was originally banned by the ASA in 2015......Khan became Mayor a year later......
You have to question the motives of those who both arranged this and are somehow revelling in it. This started when Khan rubber stamped the decision to allow the Trump balloon to fly, a decision that he had no place overturning as there was no reason to not allow the political satire and thus sanction free speech. Ironic given that the alt and far right continually bleat about their freedom of speech being impinged.
However, would the London Mayor have been the focus of the Trump balloon ire if he was a white non Muslim?
I think not, they’ve then exacerbated this thinly veiled racism, by adding the bikini, as the alt and far right peddled the myth that the decision to ban that ad was down to him not wanting to see women in bikinis due to his Muslim background.
So it’s neither funny nor even vaguely clever, it’s merely poorly disguised bigotry imo.
