Remember pre-Carlo, there were shouts for him to come to us.
I think we learnt our lesson from our Mike Walker experience.

Were there?

Jesus, it's a bit like Dean Smith with Villa, supports his local team, and has done an excellent job at lower leagues, but if the emotion of your hometown club isn't your driving factor, you're not getting far with managers like this. I'd imagine Duncan would be something similar.

The only thing worth sacking him over was transfers last summer, if he was in control of them. They simply don't have the quality of players to stay up. But why sack him now? He could have them bounce back up like Farke is doing with Norwich. Now they're going to bring in someone new and rebuild to their system. Can only see it setting them back further.

The timing doesn't make sense unless he's fallen out with the owner and it sounds like he might have

On brewster - I cannot believe he was Wilder's signing. Ignoring the fact he is not very good and was overpriced, he was the polar opposite to what Wilder needed in a striker. All managers get signings wrong; but Brewster was wrong (for Sheff U) on so many levels it had to be an interfering owner.

Journos do point out thats the biggest falling out with him and the owner. Wilder wanted to take Lingaard on loan for example, Owner didn't etc amongst others.

Don't think the owner and him can work together now.

Yeah - we certainly dont need to look to far to understand what happens when a Manager & DOF / Owner / Tech Director dont agree on recruitment; ultimately trust breaks down quickly and once that is gone it's game over.

Wilder would be a decent fit for Palace me thinks.
Can't see Tomkins and Cahill as overlapping CBs personally

I wouldn't trust him with the job. Overperformed massively 1st season up and that caught up with them this season. They're the worst side we've played this season by a mile. Couldn't create a chance if their lives depended on it. Also, his insistence on controlling transfers wouldn't work well here

he can GTF with the Straight Talking Pub Bore thing as well
