^^^ And to add to that, the official PL website says Royston only has 3 yellows to his name...?

It probably hasn't been updated since midweek. Which was defo the one prior to a possible ban, ask Alan Irvine on Radio City, he 's on the the Everton matchbooks on their website with his midweek commentary.

Call off your witch hunt lid.

You'll be calling for Owen Coyle next.

The five card yellow rule has been wiped already and there's no way he's close to ten, so that's just a flat out lie.

i said from what i understand i did not say definete i may be wrong !!!!! also you aint so sure so why say its a flat out lie ??

" i think you may be wrong would have been suffice " not a flat out lie thanks pal

I wasn't having a go at you mate. It sounded to me like you were just passing on what you've heard; I was saying that whoever's started that one's lying.

I was pretty sure though. I've always thought they were wiped post-January. In fact I'm very sure and I will remain so until someone posts some genuine facts that state otherwise (i.e. actual rules from the FA).

no problem pal i got the message from born an evertonian took it as they know thought i would post it ,it just pisses me off when a posst says its an out and out lie thats why as i said from what i understand lets see what gives becuase i asked the question why R.R.D didnt play today when i thought he had an impact on tuesday and to be honest i would have rather played him today if that was the case if he could have helped win the game against wigan ,

Well as I said I thought you were just passing something on so I wasn't trying to call you a liar! Sorry for any confusion there :)

When I responded in my head I was sure that post-Jan they're definitely wiped and you then need 10 for a suspension. A few people have put seeds of doubt into my head but I'm still fairly sure that's the case. I've tried finding the official rules on the net but I can't seem to have any luck so if anyone else with better e-scavenging abilities wants to end the debate conclusively go ahead!

Even if it was true though it sounds mental. I don't think I've ever heard of players being rested to avoid suspensions unless it's something like in the WC or the CL and the team have basically already qualified and so rest their best players. We needed 3 points and Wigan were there for the taking so if that was the reasoning I have to say I think Moyes has got it badly wrong.

According to the FA Disciplinary Rules
if a player receives 5 cautions between
the first day of the season and 31st
December they will be suspended for
a period of 1 match .

If a player receives a 5th caution after
the 31st December they will be
warned as to their future conduct.

If a player receives 10 cautions
between the first day of the season
and the second Sunday in April they
will be suspended for a period of 2
matches.

Players from the Premier League have
benefited from the change to the date
of the yellow card amnesty with the
cut off date for five cautions now
reduced to 31 December.

Previously, players collecting five
yellow cards prior to the final day in
February were subject to a one-match
suspension.

Drenthe got his 5th against city on Monday. He gets another, hes not suspended

Thanks.

So yes, it was jarg.

Shame in a way as you'd think Moyes could see -- like surely most can -- that Drenthe would have bummed that Wigan defence. They are poor as anything and Caldwell alone has conceded 4 pens this year. Drenthe's quick feet and pace... well there's no point dwelling on what ifs. It's over now.
