Royston Drenthe

I'm with you mate. I'm excited about him.

I just have two worries, really;

1.) Will he stay if he's any good? He'll be on a free and I fear bigger clubs may poach him
2.) Will him and Baines compliment each other? We're already too reliant on our left side and putting Drenthe at LM might just make us even more reliant on it.

Barkley can play on the right, and is very useful there, so I don't think we would be. We'd almost have something similar to Donovan and Pienaar but the opposite way around, with the right sided player cutting inside and the left winger providing the width. In theory, that is, hopefully Drenthe adapts.

It seems wasteful though in a way, because we already have Baines. With Donovan we only had Neville at RB so it wasn't like he was stepping on anyone's toes.

Champions League Qualification will not happen this season, I think Moyes wants Europa League so we can bring in a few more players with experience from abroad. Much cheaper than bringing them in from UK.

Hyper-hypothetical situation I was talking about there... I enjoy the unexpected, just wish it paid off more often (at all). Incredibly excited about Drenthe. :blink:
