Probably (at £35m) and so be it. Otherwise he stays. Start sweating Ross.
Funny how we've all got our own valuations.
Still feel absolutely gutted he's going, properly buzzkilled this entire window for me.
The contract offer should be taken away. Either that or with much reduced wages. If he wants to play it that way we'd just let him rot without even playing with the U23's. Lets see how good his move next season would go without any football whatsoever this season.
I doubt that will happen though, if he doesn't get the move this window I'm sure he'd sign a new contract for purely self preservation reasons.
He's a disgrace the way he's let his contract run down to have us over a barrel, his career will dive bomb, Rodwell MkII.Still feel absolutely gutted he's going, properly buzzkilled this entire window for me.
So he probably knows they want him (I wonder how). So the RS have him to fall back on if other targets don't come in. By the way, I don't see him getting in their side.

Don't think he's signing a new contract mate but I agree with most of what you say. Chelsea and/or Spurs smell a bargain here. We'd be the same if a player of ability was nearing final year of contract (Michael Keane refers). Its business and opportunism. I always thought one of the top clubs would come in late and Ross and his agent have will have known this all along. Would love us to keep him or keep giving out that impression we're not dropping below our valuation to drive up the price until 11th hour. Game on.I'm not bothered about barkley being upset... I am more worried about Everton and us being bent over by our own player and another club... I would rather send a message and drop him to the reserves and lose 20m fee... than let Spurs take the piss out of us.. would also show players in the future that running your contract down will cost you a year of your career...
Best option now is for ross to sign... get a pay rise and us put a 40m release clause in his new deal
I disagree on that mate. I still want him to sign even now, he's still a good player and if he signed the orignal contract offer I'd be happy with that. Ross not signing wouldn't benefit the club at all, and by offering a redused deal you'd back him into a corner were of course he wouldn't sign. I'd rather he signed now and if Barkley still wants a move sell him next season, at least we'd make a much larger profit that way.The contract offer should be taken away. Either that or with much reduced wages.
It probably will be done by close tomorrow. But need to play this out. And if its not right he stays until January. No sentiment now.No point of keeping him in the reserve. Sell him by tomorrow evening.
I'm sure it's been mentioned in here before, but is it just me that doesn't understand how he's going to pass a medical anywhere if he has actually had surgery very recently.
He's been coached and made at this club, his boyhood club he supports, said he'd never do what Rooney did as he remembers how much it hurt him as a fan at the tme, he said that 3 years ago.I don't have any issues with how he's behaved tbh. He's kept quiet and is doing what's within his rights as an employee.
He's also got shed loads more talent and ability than Rodwell ever had.

Now he's put us in a position of having to accept low ball bids from the likes of Chelsea and possibly Spurs, he's a disgrace.
