But he's a better player... I agree that 40m isn't realistic given his injury... but 20-25 is to low and I would rather tell anyone who offers it to swivel
Like I say we can only judge what was realistic after he transfers or the window shuts. It could be that 40m was realistic and Everton get a bite. But if Everton don't sell, Barkley could be upset he has been priced out of a move.

But Ox is ready to play in the next game. Barkley is injured for the next few months and then needs to get fit which is a big chunk of that 12 months.
But Ox will soon be injured and be missing for a run of games too. His injury record at Arsenal isn't the best.

I reckon we will get 35m. Chelsea will panic regarding their homegrown players quote and with the Ox rejecting them, they need to bring players in. There aren't many with the quality or potential quality that they will be happy to sign so will need to cough up of they want him.

I've just said in the transfer window thread if the club had any sense they'd get Batshuayi as part of any deal.

Problem is he's injured and if we dont sell now his value will be less again . He's gone anyway so I'd just get what we can for him and move on . He will struggle to get on the bench at Chelsea !

If it gets to that though he can sign a pre-contract in January to leave for nothing in the summer.

If Barkley is definitely not going to sign a contract it's surely in Everton's interest to find the right price.

I agree but if we don't get the price we want , I wouldn't be at all upset if he never played for the club again . Wouldn't upset me at all if he didn't play for us again then leave on a free transfer on lower wages because his value has gone down as he hasn't played at all.
Unrealistic I know but buying a player for 45 million quid seemed impossible 18 month ago. Let me dream man .

We'll sell. We need to money to buy Troy Deaney ffs

If Moshiri and co play their cards right with Barkley they might break even on transfer dealings this summer, which would be very impressive in our "new era" and with our new "spending power"!

Only this. Get the money in, and let him go. If he is a raging success, good on him - a smart decision on his behalf. If he doesn't, so what - at least he's not on our books. We already have his replacement in with Gylfi, and other options in his position, so unlike the Rom replacement debacle, we shouldn't see any medium to long term disruption past the new players settling in.
