Whilst you say its unrealistic, I sort of get it. If we can actually afford to refuse 'low ball' bids we could keep him and let him 'lose' a season. No way is Ross worth £10m less than Oxlade. Why should we help him? Its got to suit us. I've always wanted him to stay, but business is business. Unlucky Ross. The price has got to suit us. If not, do one.

If Barkley is definitely not going to sign a contract it's surely in Everton's interest to find the right price.

It is now because Barkley is supposedly out injured until December with a hammy, do think he's still worth as much as Chamberlain thoug

Its going to come down to how desperate we are for the funds (or perhaps a more realistic price - Oxlade Chamberlain refers). It would be a major statement if we kept him into the final year of his contract. We shouldn't just be facilitating a move for Ross just to get something back. If we actually need that £25m to £30m its a different story. Can't believe I'm thinking we won't or might not take the money.

Sadly I think Southgate is far more likely to call up and play Ross when he's had a season sitting on Chelsea's bench than should he be playing and scoring for us.

Chelsea are apparently close to signing Llorente from Swansea... that may free up Batshuayi. Both Chelsea and Everton might be able to find a win with some kind of swap.

I'm not bothered about barkley being upset... I am more worried about Everton and us being bent over by our own player and another club... I would rather send a message and drop him to the reserves and lose 20m fee... than let Spurs take the piss out of us.. would also show players in the future that running your contract down will cost you a year of your career...

Best option now is for ross to sign... get a pay rise and us put a 40m release clause in his new deal

Don't know why you say Spurs... we haven't bid and now Chelsea are in for him I don't expect us to.

If he wants to play it that way we'd just let him rot without even playing with the U23's. Lets see how good his move next season would go without any football whatsoever this season.

I doubt that will happen though, if he doesn't get the move this window I'm sure he'd sign a new contract for purely self preservation reasons.
