Thw thing is none of us know the score. Koeman may well have ballsed the whole, thing up, i dont know, but consider this, why, of all of them, did he single out Ross? Maybe he wasnt listening in training, giving it the 'great young hope' biggun? I dont recall him singling out anyone else, so in the absence of any evidence, we can only say that Ross Will 100% be at fault if he screws the club over by leaving on a free.
I dont didagree Steve, im was just saying those who think that he did, why (if as they say he picked on Ross) didnhe pick on him alone? When there were others not playing the way Ron wanted?Koeman DID'N'T single out Barkley. Barkley was the one who rightly got dropped or subbed and the media asked Koeman questions, which he answered as honestly as he could. I wish people would not perpetuate this myth that Koeman 'picked on poor Ross'...all Koeman did was his JOB !!!
Great reading through the last 20 pages.
It's gangsters fault.
It's Martinez's fault for pampering him.
It's Koeman's fault for not praising him.
Then suddenly and dramatically it's gone from Koeman (rightly) publicly saying he wants more from Ross to him being singled out every single day in the media. The England manager reading the papers and thinking Ross is crap, never of course speaking to Koeman about him, he just reads the mirror and Koeman has ruined Ross' life.
There's a reason why Koeman singled out Ross and not Barry or Kone or Williams. Ross has potential and can achieve more. The others were either old or weren't good enough. It's tough love.
If i was going to the gym to lose weight and was slacking off, i'd much rather have a personal trainer tell me i can do so much better and step it up than a Martinez telling me that 1 chin up i did was the greatest chin up of all time.
Over the past 3 or 4 years we've blamed EVERYONE but Ross for not reaching his potential.
Warnock, Moyes, Martinez, several England managers, Koeman.
IMO maybe Barkley needs to take a bit of the flack this time.

He is (soon to be was) the greatest talent in the club by some distance, yet the performances he put in were basically that of a lazy player who couldn't be bothered putting a shift in. Players of far lesser ability were at least putting more effort into games. That was plain to see. One of the greatest recent talents in the club, and one with one of the poorest attitudes towards pulling his guts out for the team EVER!
Any bollockings he got were totally deserved. The warning signs were there when he was dropped from the England squad, but he did nothing to address the issue. As others have posted, if he doesn't change that attitude, he'll end up in the Jeffers/Rodwell category, and it will be all his own fault. A total disgrace to the Everton cause, with the attitude he has displayed.
Take a look at Alli with Spurs, Ross, and hang your head in shame...
Ross thought he could 'do a Rom' this summer but it has backfired in spectacular fashion because nobody has come in for him with a serious offer.
I expect he will be gone by September 1st but he will end up being an unused substitute more often than not.
He will then go to a club below Everton's level to get game time and he will fade into obscurity.
I don't really have any pity for him because he has brought it on himself.
