I don't know how documented his trouble outside of football was. A girl I work with reckons it's a family from Anfield. If he's happy to be in Liverpool till at least January then I can't see that being what made him want go in the first place

Think it's more to do with playing champions league football mate, you know not actually earning the right to play it for your own club, getting it given on a plate to him with a club already there.

based on the group Spurs have it may not be there come January for him to play in.

This makes zero sense unless he has had a last minute change of heart which find hard to believe.

If, as many suspect he has done this to shaft us and line his own pockets, I am not sure he is ready for the level of attention that will get him not just from us but from all football fans.

And that is why I am keeping an open mind and refusing to chuck rotten fruit at our Diamond in the stocks.

It is getting harder as the day progresses though.....a simple statement to that effect this morning would change the whole perception of the matter.

I think it's a few footballing reasons mate, I think the CL played a part, along with possibly his perceived treatment under Koeman and Hodgson which probably wouldn't have happened (Hodgson) if he played under Fergie for example. I think the pressure of fans and some negativity played a part. How important each aspect was I'm sure we will never know

My take: Chelsea have bid accepted in order to progress to medical, all goes well with the obvious exception of his current injury. Once they are happy with the results and personal terms are agreed, CFC ask the player to agree to come back in January when the agreed transfer fee becomes substantially lower.

Why would he come out with reasons for jibbing us off before he's even left ? Are you saying you'd actually have preferred him to go to the press about why he wants to leave Everton ?

Its generally considered that staying silent is a more respectful way of doing things.



Again... What does he need to explain ?

He wants to go to Spurs, he thinks it's his best option... and it probably is. I think Chelsea would have been a mistake whereas Spurs I can see him fitting in quite well.

Were you expecting a written essay to the entire fanbase explaining his choices. Ever consider that his reasons may be personal or private ?

Yeah, I'd like him to clear the air. He's never playing for this club again unless he signs a contract, you can bet your life on that one.

It's not like other players who want to leave stay quiet about it, explaining his reasons isn't likely to do any more damage than he's already done by saying he's getting off.

What he needs to explain is how he goes from talking about how much Rooney leaving hurt him and other Evertonians when signing his new contract 3 years ago to how we're no longer fit to wipe his arse with in his eyes.

I want to know why our best Evertonian squad member believes it is in his best interest to get off at a time when we're being told the club is ambitious and moving forwards. Maybe he knows we're being sold a lie, maybe he doesn't think we're ever getting CL. Either way I just want him to SAY IT so I no longer have to deal with the litany of ridiculous excuses people are making for him in an attempt to behave the bizarre way this has played out.

bit crap to run his deal down after the club made him. no problem with him wanting to leave but don't have to screw the club to do so

And the way the club looked after him when he was a kid whose career looked in jeopardy when he badly broke his leg in 3 places, makes it even worse!
