How has he stitched the club up good and proper ? you think a player who wants to leave should have signed a contract drastically decreasing the chances of him leaving ? Do you think he should put Everton before his own career ambitions ?

Were you equally outraged at the club when we tried to get rid of Niasse only a few months after giving him a 4 and half year deal ?

Why is it ok for clubs to screw players but not for players to screw clubs (highly debatable as to whether barkley has screwed anyone)
I believe he goosed a gangster's moll...

Why do people get angry with players for stuff like this but not at clubs when they far more regularly try and screw their own players.

Signing a contract would not have reduced his chances of leaving because things can be put into contracts to allow so. Not signing has reduced our clubs ability to generate money for a replacement, a replacement for a player that our club nurtured over many years. What career ambitions does he have ? He is no longer in the England set up, even fully fit is no longer a shoe-in into the Everton side never mind Chelsea. But he is one of ours and I'd like to see him play for us. But he doesn't want to and running down his contract is a disgraceful way to treat the club and fans.

Niasse still has a contract, he is getting paid while he or the club find someone else who will have him.

The club have not screwed Ross, nor have they screwed Niasse. However one of those two players is blatantly screwing the club.......

What ? Of course it reduces the chances of him leaving. It increases his value straight away. What clause are you going to put in his contract ? If it's a minimum release fee then it's still going to be more than if he didn't sign the contract...

They want £40m for him with 1 year left on his deal, how much do you think they ask once he signs a new deal ? a lot more... more than other clubs will probably be willing to pay.

Boohoo, hes got his own life to worry about... his job in life isn't to make Everton as much money as possible. If he wants to leave then he's well within his right to let his contract run down just as anyone in any profession is free to do so. It's only football where this is considered some appalling sin.... why ? because football fans are a precious bunch who struggle to have a rational thought process at the best of times.

Selling Ross Barkley (or at least getting into a position where we are having to) is one of the most short-sighted things I've ever seen the club do.
So what should we do? Give him away? Either way he goes, we haven't got into a position we're we have to sell him, Ross has got into a position where he wanrs to go and there is nothing we can do about it.

A deal could have been done for the benefit of both the player and the club, whereby he is given an absolute promise that he would be sold, at a sensible market rate to clubs x,y or z.

If other x,y,z, are not willing to pay then perhaps he's just not that good and top teams only drag their feet on a fee when they know they have the other team over a barrel.

Of course he has his own life, and if it were any other player no one would give a damn, but he is supposed to be one of ours, a blue. When Rooney went we got top dollar for him, he didn't mooch around and run down a contract. He took stick for going, but Ross doesn't seem to want to do that. He hasn't been fair with the fans or the club......
