Ross Barkley

Indeed there will be mate, I'd just be sad to see him go..... it wasn't that long ago we were talking about our four young , great prospects who were going to transform us , Stones, Del Boy, Rom and Ross. While none are in their class yet I guess our four new saviours are Holgate, Lookman, DCL and Davies.

..it will be sad but it's reality in the modern game. I suspect one club players will increasingly become a thing of the past. Delli Alli already linked with Real.

Hopefully he'll have bigger fish around him. With Rom ahead, Schneiderlin and Gueye behind, hopefully we get Bolasie back. We could do with another quality attacking player from the right to add to that. I don't know why Ross feels he has to do everything. It's not as though he's got Barry McCarthy Cleverley Kone around him anymore.
I thought he would have signed by now, but it's getting close to the wire.

I suppose it shouldn't be surprising that a player might want to experience something different in his career. Maybe it's a decision that he made back when his relationship with Koeman and the crowd seemed quite fraught.

And play where? Unless Spurs are going to sell one or two of their gems. Which I doubt.
In the position he is playing currently perhaps, with Alli through the middle and Eriksen left?

Just a hunch mate, nothing more.

I for one desperately want him to stay

Maybe if they get £80m for Alli, we could get £40m for Ross?

...I don't know, Matey. I still think he might sign but if he doesn't I wouldn't know who'd be interested. There hasn't been the same level of interest as Stones and Lukaku which isn't surprising given some of his form but he has been terrific at times this year. I suspect a number of top coaches are unconvinced but there will surely be others who like what they see.

It will all unfold soon and I hope he signs.

His cross was better than any Beckham (although looked very similar) ever put in.

And that's praise enough.

I'll be truly gutted if he goes. Maybe even more than when Rom inevitably goes.

But if there's a decent contract on the table for him and he's not signing it then something isn't right somewhere.
Absolutely incorrect sir (imho)

He'll sign imo, no idea what the delay is about, but I'm confident that when push comes to shove he'll end up staying.

Think there's definitely talks and definitely a deal in the works.

Agent will be the issue me thinks, if he's been having words in Ross's ear about any interest from elsewhere.

This isn't forgiving the club totally, though. They should have had the lad signed onto a new deal last summer.

If someone put a gun to my head and said pick one I'd rather lose the manager as well if I'm brutally honest. Koemans not here for long term, Barkleys one of us. Hopefully we keep both...

Yeah, that's my thinking too. I've just posted in the Koeman thread feeling a bit more positive about him this morning, but I'd prefer not to lose a player like Barkley due to a manager that many would feel might only be here 2 or 3 seasons.

Obviously if it's all just Ross and he doesn't wanna sign then that's a whole other story.

I think Koeman has helped Ross with some tough love though, and I'm still pretty sure he will be here next season and will still be key to the team no matter who we sign.
