My 6 year old had the 3-3 derby highlights from a few years back on YouTube today. Barkley dominated that game, can't see why he just isn't performing to that standard or surpassing it. Some of the highlights from that game he looked a world beater. My lad didn't even recognise him as barkley!

Just not as good as some of the deluded believed. Easily replaced. Been brought up with an 'Everton mentality' that needs replacing.

Looks like he's going the same way as rodwell. Sad. Maybe we should look at what we're doing in our youth development that causes players to tail off in their mid 20s

Painful to say but so much promise has turned into average at best. Would have loved him to have moved to the next level but simply hasn't happened. Blame Martinez if you want but the only person responsible for his lack of progress is....err Ross Barkley and imo lack of effort.

Agreed, I don't think he was nearly as bad as everyone seems to be making out. I personally was more disappointed with Bolasie than Barkley apart from the goal.

Mirallas did nothing. If he'd passed to Rom in the first 10 minutes instead of taking the shot I think we'd have scored.

Completely forgot about Mirallas, that's how invisible he was. No movement from him nor Bolasie in the final third, just lethargy and pointless stepovers
