Ross Barkley

Dele ali better than Ross?? FFs Ali is nothing special at all - Ross is not performing as we know he can but to just dismiss him from the team is ludicrous imo - there are a few who need to be binned before him.

Ali has been doing it for a long time now in all honesty, forget about England, whilst everyone here is clinging onto ross' performances from years back

Waching the replay 50 mins in. Barkley having a good game. Not understanding the abuse so far. Mirallas, Lukaku and Bolasie have been total dross in comparison.

For some reason he gets so much abuse. I just don't get it.

It's a terrible combination with him...his confidence is so flimsy, and folks jump on his back when he makes a mistake.

He didn't have a great game, but as you say there were others that were far worse.

You're gonna fume when Gana gets subbed.

My only criticism is he can't get a good cross into the box. They always seemed to get blocked or deflected which frustrates me.
I've commented on a sub in the match thread. Crying for a 2nd striker to come on as we are all over them. He brings on Cleverley?

One of the defects about Ross is that he slows things down. He coasts through games and rarely makes a good
forward pass and he has, unlike Ali, no desire to get in the box and get on the end of moves.

How many times this season has Bolasie knocked a decent centre and Barkley has failed to get in there supporting Rom?

Unless Rom scores then there is hardly anyone who can score and Barkley does not have that desire, that drive. Barkley is supposed to be an attacking no 10 and he can't do it. Compare and contrast with Cahill for example.

the thing that absolutely perplexes me is that Ross was 5x the player he is right now. Hyperbole, sure. He's not a shadow of the player he was 2-3 years ago. He's not only stagnated, he's taken MASSIVE steps backwards at this point. Im not even sure HOW you take those steps backwards, yet, here we are. It's like a lot of supporters are scared of placing things at Ross' feet because he's a blue but I feel like that should be the oppostie because we would KILL to be in that same spot he is in.

Confidence...it's all between his ears his struggles.

Whenever he scores, it looks like he's gonna score again because he believes in himself.

Him doing something good will lead to more good.

His constant slating from the fans is only making him play worse because he tries too hard and doesn't trust himself.

His ability is unquestioned...but he struggles massively with confidence. No idea why, but it's there for all to see.

A good manager should be able to instill confidence in the lad.

I haven't seen the game. May watch a replay today, but how can Ross get so many mixed reviews on today's performance? From total garbage to his best game of the season.
C'mon people. Make up your minds.
Simple mate
Some on here believe he should be putting Messi/Inneista type performances in week in week out.
He played OK yesterday, nothing special but a decent performance overall
