Indeed, at his best hes an amazing player, but hes regressed badly recently, not a single bit of confidence left in the lad, its painful to watch and its a damn shame.

It may seem that he has gone backwards, but people have been watching him and playing against him for several seasons, so have learned how to defend against him better.

For me, he takes far too many unnecessary touches of the ball. This slows our attacks down and allows defenders to get into position. Even when putting crosses in, he feigns it, takes a touch and then puts the cross in from exactly the same position as before the feint.

No disrespect intended towards yourself, but you have spotted the flaws in Ross's game, so you can bet EVERY single coach in the game have done their homework and spotted those same deficiencies.
At his age, and considering the number of first class games he has played, it is now entirely up to the player to bring a different dimension to his play. That is the only way top players become, and remain, top players.
I fear should Ross not do this, he will be gone by this seasons end. And that will be a massive shame, because he has an abundance of ability. But like a number of players over the years, his legs work faster than his brain.
Many players, on the other hand, have been successful despite the fact they were one paced or one footed. The difference was, they exploited their virtues by overcoming their shortfalls.
The 'old' saying, it's not always what you do which brings success, it is sometimes what you don't do.
It's time for Ross to not be jack of all trades and concentrate on what he can do best. Run at defenders and put the wets up them and get into the opponents penalty area. He will terrify them.
But for goodness sake, don't stop to think. Many footballers prove what many believe, give them time to think and you'll discover they are incapable of thought. I don't care about that, often football is all about instinct.

Maybe mate I'm probably just being to nice to him,i go the match in hope of seeing him tear the place up but it never happens as I said what we get now is all we are going to get.

Rooney's nowhere near the player he was, and looks to have hit the wall.
Even if Ross doesn't progress further he's still a decent Premier League player with many years in his career still ahead.
