Ross Barkley

I think he'll be off.

If he's looking on and seeing lesser players in the first team then he's way too good for bench warming.

Hopefully Koeman knows what he's doing with him. If it's a shot across the bow to get a reaction and it comes, all well and good. Personally, I think that if a manager cant adapt a talent like his then the problem isn't the player it's the coach.

:celebrate::celebrate::celebrate:

I wouldn't describe him as still very young. He's the same age as Lukaku, older than Geri and really should have kicked on by now. He's been the next big thing for the past couple of seasons and it just has not happened for him. He may have the ability but i don't think he's got the necessary football brain to go with it. Also he should be a beast, given his size and he isn't. My biggest disappointment is that he never sticks his foot into a tackle.

I hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling that his days may be numbered, which would be a real shame.

If yous don't want him send him to us

Amazing how the day after a 3-0 victory, our striker bags a hat trick, bolasie looks dangerous, gueye is magnificent, another clean sheet for a defence that was terribly leaky last 2 seasons and we are sitting 3rd in the league.

Yet this has been the most commented on thread of the day, the pressure some of you put on russ is unbelievible.
Yes he had a poor half, yes koeman did the right thing and yes he will prob be on the bench next game, but i would more say thats due to the attacking 4's performance 2nd half than anything. Just like when bolasie came in for geri, geri had to grab his next chance to get in the side and he did it yesterday.
Its 1 45 minutes in 5 games this season. Rest of the time he has probably been in our top 3 players, yet some of you say we should sell him or it spells trouble for him.
Calm down hey!

He definitely has, just not consistently.

He's still a very young player and people forget this, but that said it would be foolish to excuse his last couple of displays. He's been awful.
Young? He's had three managers. Three full seasons, internationals and is turning into the Jack Wilshere of the north.

To be completely honest, he was awful last time out too mate, and hasn't shone in quite a while.

I'm a big fan, but that's just the truth.

Can you think of the major difference between Barkley's circumstances and those three you mention?

The fact Barkley isn't singlehandedly dragging his team to trophies like Gerrard was at his age, or playing in an already world class team like Scholes
