Ross Barkley

I'm glad he's not in the England squad. I want him to be 100% under Koeman's influence, not that greasy white van driver lookalike.
Want him to come back and score in our next 3 games now.

If Big Sam was at White Hart Lane yesterday he'd of ended up picking Barkley and leaving out Ali. I couldn't care less about England but this lads got more ability in his left bollock than Llallama and Henderson put together. Good for us he stays away from the circus and everyone having a word in his ear and plays for a proper manager.

Barkley is one trick pony. If you take your blue tinted glasses of you could see it clear as daylight. Has learnt nothing the last 3 years. Still the same predictable stuff. Gets the ball, head down , runs with the ball, boom looses the ball, walks back ... until getting the ball head down...Really bad headless chicken stuff. Has never learnd to play football. I fear it is to late to learn any tactical awarness.

Cannot believe the hate Ross gets even from his own fans. It's as though if the lad is not lighting up the prem every week that he's rubbish and doesn't deserve a place in one of the worst international squads in football. What does Alli do every week to keep getting picked? Ditto Wilshere. Nothing that Ross isn't doing, but to get anything like the same type of love from the media and FA he needs to be hitting double figure goals and assists in a season.

I predict Ross will outshine every other English midfielder in the prem this season and will ram this inane decision down fat Sam's throat.

We all want Ross to succeed but as he says himself he knows it's time to deliver otherwise he will be another prospect that never fulfilled his potential - never mind how bad the other players in the squad are let's be honest there has been very few games where you've left the stadium and though Barkley was brilliant . Just because people criticise it doesn't mean they are haters - he's a a home grown player who people want to succeed more than anybody else so he is bound to be under more scrutiny.

Barkley, using yesterday's game as an example, you could put together one highlights package showing him to be excellent, and a lowlights one showing him to be awful. His lack of consistency is becoming excruciating. The best thing Koeman could do to help his development is buy some decent quality competition for his place in our team and hope he ups his game to respond. I so much want him to be great but Barkley is just so predictable and easy to mark; receives ball, stops, slants shoulder to the right, turns to the right, passes sideways to the right....

I agree, he doesn't deserve it but it's a bit hypocritical coming from you with your hatred of Barry who is one of our top performers.

Ross is a young player from our academy with his whole international career ahead of him. He is a player clearly affected by confidence and at times during the Martinez era was seemingly shouldering a large part of the fan discontent. He's taken so many confidence blows from the national team that I think he needs our support.

Barry has had nearly all of his career and was receiving very little of the blame for the failings of the Martinez period. Whilst Ross was a target for fans Barry got off lightly despite in my opinion not playing very well in that period.

People obviously have different opinions. I don't think it's hypocritical though just because I don't rate Barry for me to say that as a whole Ross gets far more criticism from the Everton fan base and the national press than he deserves. I can't think of any other young England player treated in this manner recently to be honest.

You could say the same about half that england squad.

Why does he have to be brilliant? He was been very good in all three league games thus far. As a country though we seek to be obsessed with goals and assist stats especially when it concerns Ross Barkley. There's an expectation whenever he's on the ball that he's going to bend one in from 30 yards or put it on a plate for someone. This expectation does not happen when Alli or Lallana are on the ball, they are praised to the hilt for nice touches and keeping possession the sort of stuff Ross is doing as a minimum.

It's definitely hypocritical, you talk about his own fans having a go at him while you slag off the players and fans player of the year.

They're called opinions. I can hold the opinion that Barkley gets too much stick from the media and his own fans. I can also hold the opinion that I don't rate Barry. Anyone can hold the opinion that my opinions are wrong but it's not hypocritical for me to say it. In my eyes I rate Barkley highly and believe he doesn't deserve this criticism, I don't rate Barry so believe he should be open to more criticism. Now if only there was a place online to share these opinions with Blues who hold different ones to me. Oh there is, so please bore off with your semantic pedantry. Back on ignore mode you go.
