Ross Barkley

Barkley is one trick pony. If you take your blue tinted glasses of you could see it clear as daylight. Has learnt nothing the last 3 years. Still the same predictable stuff. Gets the ball, head down , runs with the ball, boom looses the ball, walks back ... until getting the ball head down...Really bad headless chicken stuff. Has never learnd to play football. I fear it is to late to learn any tactical awarness.

Bit of a nob aren't you really

They're called opinions. I can hold the opinion that Barkley gets too much stick from the media and his own fans. I can also hold the opinion that I don't rate Barry. Anyone can hold the opinion that my opinions are wrong but it's not hypocritical for me to say it. In my eyes I rate Barkley highly and believe he doesn't deserve this criticism, I don't rate Barry so believe he should be open to more criticism. Now if only there was a place online to share these opinions with Blues who hold different ones to me. Oh there is, so please bore off with your semantic pedantry. Back on ignore mode you go.
I agree with you mate about Barkley can I ask why you don't rate barry

I agree that Barkley gets too much stick, young player learning his game. But, he is hypocritical moaning about fans having a go at Barkley when he does at Barry.

Think I'm right in my view. Especially when Barry has been one of our top performers.

I rate Barkley highly, I don't slate him but I support him. But, I wouldn't moan about other supporters when I'm slating other players at the same time because it's hypocritical.

It's not that I don't rate Barry, he's had a great career and was a very very good player 7 or 8 years ago.

What I railed against in the Martinez years was this idea that we should be building our side around an ageing player. That whilst players like Barkley Jagielka Besic carried the can for bad performances Barry got off completely Scot free despite the team having a poor defensive record. That Besic was branded as some sort of hot head not suitable for the league yet the ultra experienced Barry was indispensable despite numerous reds and suspensions for the accumulation of yellows not to mention the penalties or backpass given away in key games.

My criticism probably has been over the top and to be fair without McCarthy next to him he has looked a lot better in these first few games this season. I just don't think he ever took his fair share of the heat for the Mattinez years whilst players like Bafkley Mirallas Baines Coleman took far too much of it.

He's a good player, in my view he's just not the indispensable Pirlo/Xavi hybrid rolls Royce that some on here have depicted him as.

Is going to be a superb all round player all this kick on stuff, can't do it for national team if not selected. Will be a shoe in for us for years big Sam gone within 2 years.Ross will be back for England I've no doubt. This will make him doubly determined which will really benefit us this season has more natural talent than any current England midfielder

Fair enough just interested in your thoughts on him.

Not to be a dick, because I know this wasn't the point of what you were saying, but Pirlo, as with many central midfielders, was a late bloomer. To play the role intelligently usually requires years of experience. I'm excited to see how Ross turns out - he's an incredibly idiosyncratic player (tendency to put his foot on the ball and overthink things etc.), but his raw attributes are incredible.

Lid @Moomin said you're a hypocrite as you've got him on ignore.

Im merely the Telegram man so don't fierce me bra.

Why does he have to be brilliant? He was been very good in all three league games thus far. As a country though we seek to be obsessed with goals and assist stats especially when it concerns Ross Barkley. There's an expectation whenever he's on the ball that he's going to bend one in from 30 yards or put it on a plate for someone. This expectation does not happen when Alli or Lallana are on the ball, they are praised to the hilt for nice touches and keeping possession the sort of stuff Ross is doing as a minimum.

And no one talks about his passing range or ability to the one driving a midfield in the final 3rd.

Ali and Lalana don't. They let everyone else (Coutinho, Erikson for eg) do that work.

So he is saying it's wrong to criticize Barkley but it's fair game for Barry, but if you criticize Barkley you are a bad supporter.

It's hypocritical whatever way you look at it.
I can see both points to be honest mate but I know what your saying.
