Ross Barkley

Agreed. You can say what you want about LFC fans but at least they have a bit a positivity about themselves.

'Evertonians' seem to have a daily competition of who can be the most dramatically negative.

Can't argue with this. I can't see anything over the top negative in this thread today though.

Dunno mate I think he was just maturing and playing well in spite of Bobby not because. When form dipped and he needed structure and discipline in his game Blerto was found wanting and that's where it will hurt Ross in the long run imo.

Think Martinez giving Barkley an almost free role helped, agree that Martinez should have been a lot more disciplined and structured with him, the one notable thing being the amount of weight Ross looked like he was gaining, can't believe how that was allowed to go on, probably down to Ross sneaking in and gorging on all that lemon drizzle cake!

Not for me, hes been pretty bad, but at some point it will click for the lad and he will go on a run, needs to play tonight, needs a performance as well.
how many matches should he get though waiting for things to click?thought after the boro game was the game where he was going to take off.
p.s.dropped him from my fantasy football team this week so he should score a hattrick tonight:D

Just think him coming off the bench might be the incentive to kick start him, especially if he comes on when we're winning. If he starts, and starts bad, the groans will reverberate round the stadium again from some of the bells in the crowd.

I don't think he is that type of player to come off the bench,i think he needs to start.plus your right about the crowd.

would rather see del or mirallas in the number ten role if Koeman goes with the standard formation
He'll play him as a #10. It's ridiculous. He may have a very good game tonight that will paper over the cracks in terms of him being able to play that role. But he's never a #10 and Koeman has stated that he can also play in one of the CM berths. So play him there then.

like you, i feel his skills are better suited playing the box to box midfielder as it provides him some s[ace to make the marauding runs he excels at. The only quibble i have with him assuming that role, is that he seems to be lax on the defensive duties. If he is able to rectify those issues i feel he would be in a better position to realize his potential.
