Ross Barkley

Just read Stan Collymore's attack on the England team. He speaks some sense, especially when talking about the likes of Rooney and Hart. I thought his comments on Ross were a bit unfair suggesting that whilst he has all the natural ability in the world it has been common knowledge around the England and Everton camp for a while now that he doesn't have a footballing brain - everything is instinct and when that doesn't work he is a liability.
I personally think that's bullsh*t but lets say that it's true why did Roy take him?! I get that the press are angry that once again their media darling players from the media darling clubs failed to deliver but managing to throw digs at a player who didn't even get on the pitch is just petty.
Unwritten rule number 15.

Whatever happens blame the Everton players in the squad.

England went out because the Everton players didn't show enough in training to warrant getting time on the pitch. This was despite Hogdson being brave enough to include them in the squad. This had the knock-on effect that we were two men short in our squad and all the other players got more tired. It's obvious really.

I'd like to add Everton were also to blame for both Rooney and Dier's poor performance against Iceland as both players had previously played for the Merseyside club. The FA at this time has refused to confirm whether the sacking of Roberto Martinez also had an effect. More breaking new as we get it

...sounds like the coaches are the ones lacking a football brain
Couldn't agree with you more. We see it time and time again. These kids like Ross (people forget how young they all are) are all at an impressionable age. They soak up everything around them, every plaudit, every criticism. They look to their coach/manager for guidance through it all. Raw talent has to be steered in the right direction. For example, as gifted as Messi is, you have to wonder where he would be if he had only ever had some journeyman halfwit coach guiding his path.

Jesus Christ, Stan, don't sugar coat it.

If Hodgson doesn't rate Barkley that's fine, but he shouldn't have bothered picking him. It's not like they didn't have plenty of games where the midfield 'battle' was fought on the edge of their opponents box, and he always had a stopper sitting in anyway.

I'm fairly critical of Barkley's lack of intelligence on the pitch, but to point the finger at him when he had nothing to do with England's failure is just pathetic.

The only English player who knows how to play centre mid - at least as anything other than an advanced defender or a withdrawn striker who never scores - is Drinkwater, and they left him at home.

Collymore has hung his hat on dele Ali. Since last November and he said Ali would go on to be a better player, and more important player for England than Barkley.
Him and carragher have turned it into a competition between Barkley and Ali.

Before the tournament Stan had said Ali was going to take the tournament by storm. Will be better than pogba in 2yrs. There was a stat about Ali giving the ball away 84 times. The most by any player at the euros. Of course Stan not mentioned this.

Makes me laugh how lallana is seen as the best technical player in the squad. 2 footed, ballance, clever. Glides across the pitch with he ball. He has about 30caps no goals and at the most 2 or 3 assists. Ross had better stats and has probably played the 3rd of the time for England.

I've said it for 2yrs if he played for a media darling club, he would be seen in a totally different light.

The same collymore who had Stretford the massive manipulator of thick people as his agent, and who publicy beat up his bird in a Paris bar in front of loads of people, yeah he is a proper role model to be able to give advice about intelligence and footballers really

Can you explain this to me? I'm rubbish with the Tweeter.

did reply meant to edit post and it deleted by mistake lol ..

the heart is basically similar to liking a status on facebook
and the 'retweet' next to it is similar to sharing as it goes on the page
and he's clicked the heart, so he's seen it and all that
