Ross Barkley

I think if Barkley does leave this summer question marks need to be asked towards mosheri, as where is the ambition. You don't sell your best players simple

you have to sell if the player won't sign a new contract with only a year left on their current one, otherwise it's throwing away millions.

I know that is my point, why would someone like Barkley not sign a new contract?

We are a club on the up, with lots of ambition etc or so where told?

Seemed strange at the time he was given a 4yr deal and lukaku a 5yr.

Like when Rooney was sold he only had 2yrs left. How come The greatest talent to come through our ranks. Was not given a 5yr deal on his 18th birthday. Could have been his agent, apparently he was big pals with fergie. I heard they lived near each other to. So maybe his agent new what was coming.

don't buy into the hysteria, that is the one thing i will say.

So ross has not signed a new contract yet? so what? when was he supposed to sign it? In the summer when it wasn't put in front of him? When the manager was on his back saying he wasn't good enough?

the contract will come and he will sign it, he will get a nice big pay rise and he will be made up to commit his future to the club. He doesn't want to leave and the club don't want to lose him so nothing news story in all.

do we even get a development fee if he runs down his contract without signing a new one? not sure if it applies when you turn 24 which he'll be by summer 2018.

Ross leaving would hurt more than Rom, for me.

Ross Barkley leaving Everton sends out ALL of the wrong signals to me.

if we cannot convince this childhood blue that he is a vital part of the future and lose him in a similar way to Rooney, then we really will be a bit of a laughing stock IMO.

Remember when Slippy G nearly left those lot?

Here here.

The way Barkley was talking about the club in those video clips they played at the Camp & Furnace event... There is zero chance of him not signing that contract.

What did he say?

About how he can feel the crowd going madder than normal when him or Davies score. His eyes were lighting up talking about when he first started hearing his song sung at the home games.

And there was a funny bit where he was talking about how he used to love singing "Feed The Yak" with the Gwladys Street while he was still a ball boy. Did the yak's little dove-hand celebration for the camera haha.

He's taken a hell of a lot of abuse from the "faithful" at Goodison over the years - so if he didn't sign, I would suspect that would have a lot to do with it. Really hope he signs on the dotted line (and I reckon he will).

I really feel like this gets blown out of proportion. Moaning from a select few arl fellas isn't a "hell of a lot of abuse from the Goodison faithful."

Vast majority of us have been behind since day one. Already seen more banners for him and more songs than even someone like Cahill ever got.

I agree. This whole thing that Barkley gets more abuse is completely false. He wasn't playing well last season and at the start of this season and hence got moans from the crowd. No Different from Barry now for example
