Ross Barkley

These local newspaper stringers are a joke and its actually them rather than, as someone suggested, Ross Barkley that are overhyped. The Manchester Evening News piece ultimately says any attempt to bid for Ross would be in twelve months time anyway so its just conjecture and garbage. How the hell it turns into a debate...or in some ridiculous cases, a critique of a naturally talented 20 year old lad with the world at his feet is beyond me. "People like him a lot more because he supports Everton...If he was a kopite"... Since when is that a barometer to latent talent. And as regards the kopite angle...well he isn't is he, end of. The self opinionated expert twitterati can analyse and dissect his talent all they like, but the fact remains that the potential to be a world class player means they cant argue over the prospect of him achieving that status. Hes nowhere near the end product yet so support the lad for Christs sake.

This will get a huge negative response, but why do I get the feeling Ross will be sold this summer

One big name seems to leave us every year and he could be the man. We always seem to have to recoup any transfer fees. I hope it's not the case

Can pretty much guarantee you right now he's not going anywhere this summer for under £60m. Which means he's not going anywhere this summer.

The discussion is a non-starter.

To think, Moyes never rated him and would have sold him on or at least loaned him out again if he had stayed.

We should all sink to our knees and thank Alex ferguson for tapping him up illegally while we were still playing important matches.

Viva la Roberto.

Just your opinion that moyes never rated him. Of course moyes rated him. Moyes problem was trusting them in his strict formation and tactics.

Viva la Roberto

Not sure about that, he sanctioned him getting a 5 year contract. The sole reason why talks of him leaving are at this point no where near desperate, as he still has 3 left

The thing I'm looking forward to the most is the progress I think Barkley will make.

If he can quicken up his decision making which will come with confidence and experience and start demanding the ball more as our main man I think he could well be world class.

It's certainly not a definite those two things will happen but if they do he could be a player that really allows us to compete with anyone.

City are nowhere near as good without Toure, Liverpool likewise without Suarez. Top top players are what make the difference and we might just have one.

If a 35/40m bid comes in you know bk will be looking to get rid

No he wont, the final say will be Robertos and i know he will want him to stay. You can tell with a manager like Martinez there are long term plans, and Ross will be playing a key part in that

He'd take £35M with the fee undisclosed and the local press printing rumours of £50M plus

No he wont, behave.

Antonio Conte just left Juve by 'Mutual Consent' but really the driving force behind him leaving was Juve wanting to make a profit on Vidal and Pogba. Conte already stated he wouldve seen out his contract and extend it if Juve show commitment and make a splash in the market.

This is why we need to get barkleys contract signed ASAP! We need to show commitment to Roberto and to Barkley to show that we can and will compete on the table and in the market helping them make their decisions easier in the future to stay.
