i was at the game, he was REALLY bad but then you can't expect much from someone who gets drip fed 5 minutes substitute appearances every now and then.

Fair comment. I wonder if that other lad will be back to tell you that you don't deserve to see young players one through.

....253 pages and counting. Seeing is believing and I don't see anything that makes me think this boy is worth much of the hype in this thread. Dearly hope I'm proven wrong, but I just don't think he's good enough.

Good enough for what though? I don't think he's ready to be a starter but he definately has all the attributes to one day be a top player at Everton.

I also watched the game Sunday and he wasn't awful which a lot of people seem to have quoted. That was a big game he filled in our wide he did ok. Was any part of the game lost because of him? No.

I think he'll become a good player in time. If he continues to get these little roles I'm sure 2 years down the line he'll be taking Osmans place.

He needs to be more confident and look for the easy pass rather than looking to shine. It's as if he's caught in the headlights. One of the experienced lads needs to grab him and tell him to just keep it cool, calm down.

A good player but needs to be utilised and protected properly.

  • He wasn't that bad.
  • He's still young.
  • There were others who did worse than him.
  • Give the lad a break.

Id send him out on a full season loan next year though. Someone who gets promoted or a team challenging the top of the Championship.

True.. except that wasn't the case
It was the case it was only the fact that the hoof balls from Distan & Jags & Howard were mainly held up by Victor to try and move us forwards Gibson & Osman never got hold of the ball TBH who won us the corner for our equaliser = Barkley!
I agree he made errors but we were pretty much over whelmed in midfield the whole game look at the possession stats - Osman was as bad as anyone he looks so tired!

He strikes me as basically being the same kind of player osman is. Though hopefully a bit better.
Sometimes he just gets lost and drifts out of games, and also can give the ball away frequently if he's under pressure.

Playing behind the striker would allow him to express himself more and create more chances.

I wouldn't be against using him right mid with Kev central for whatever appearances he makes.

Similar to how Coleman played there early on, will allow him to get used to playing in the prem, he looked much better there on Sun thna he did on the left.

Or in the middle but i reckon thats unlikely really.
