He should be on the fringes of the first team making good solid cameo appearences with the odd starting birth at home to lesser teams.... Yano to give him premiership experience and all that!

Surely next in line for position of AM is the next best player? Maybe that's not him yet. Therefore why play him for the sake of it.

I always thought Barkley was Osman's deputy and that's why he's on the bench, though.

It seemed odd then that we replaced, a doubtlessly tired, Osman with Naismith who is a striker and not the guy fans see as Osman's successor.

But Moyes clearly doesn't rate Barkley at all and will do anything to keep him away from the pitch.

Still nice to read it and the article I read looks like we could get the special one here when Moyes goes imo.

Fellaini's back up seems to be either Mirallas or Anichebe actually.

If our front 6 are:

Gibson
Osman
Pienaar Fellaini Mirallas
Jelavic

then our back up would seem to be

Neville/Hitzlsperger
Barkley/Gibson
Oviedo/Gueye Mirallas/Vic Naismith/Vic/Osman
Vic/Vellios

Barkley is the only uninjured midfielder we have who plays that Osman role. (Though Gibson has done it in front of neville) Not sitting deep the way Gibson, nev and Hitz normally do but not staying right up the way Pienaar, Felli and kev do either.

If you were going to take Osman off to rest him, he is the only like for like replacement. Which is why is strikes me as telling of Moyes opinion of him that he switched things around instead.

I honestly think Moyes just doesn't rate him as a footballer, rightly or wrongly. It's not about resting him, it's about not liking him.

Nothing to do with the difference in opinion, I neg bomb most people who complain about being neg bombed. I think it's funny.

It's quite clear to me that Ross Barkley cannot do stepovers and that is why he is not playing

Clearly Moyes felt that the game yesterday still hang in a balance until around the 65th minute. Considering his comments about putting Ross out on loan again, he must have thought that 25 minutes would not change anything. From the article yesterday Moyes clearly rates Ross, but he does not want to risk our cup or league position with the inexperience of Barkley. Another good loan in the championship or even a bottom PL club will be good for Ross, who will then hopefully be pushing for a place inthe starting line-up next season.
