Player Valuation: £1m
Everton will pocket £1.5m should Manchester United complete the Premier League and Champions League double courtesy of a lucrative clause in the Wayne Rooney transfer deal between the two clubs nearly four years ago. (News of the World)

sorry if this has already been posted.

isn't that the equivalent money to finishing 3 places higher in the league (excluding money from europe etc), if so not too shabby

this is the last year we are entitled to these add ons isnt it?

i thought we'd already had some for prem, now it will be if they win c.l.

I think it's like 500k for CL and 1m for the double.

1.5m for the treble aswell probably.

Rooney's transfer consisted of alot of add on's if the papers at the time were reporting the situation correctly.

The rooney money is well long spent.

Spent on the Manny money, the Lescott money, the Jags money, the Baines money, the pienaar money, and ofcourse a set of swinging new rims for VDM

some basic errors - one the deal is for 5 years (so till next season) and 2) - there is a guarantee of £3M over and above the £20M so, until Mancs achieved their PL/CL results THIS season we were getting no more than we otherwise would have got

The Rooney deal had a number of contingencies attached to it and if the Mancs win BOTH the league and Champions League we will be £750K better off.

The deal was £23M (£20M and up to £7M worth of contingent extras over a 5 year period (2004-9) with a minimum of £3M regardless of any achievements by the Mancs)

Thus far this has/will break down as follows:

a. Champions League wins £1M, Runners-up £0.5M (£0.5M-£1M - result pending
b. Premier League wins £0.5M, Runners-up £0.25M (£1M-£1.25M) - result pending
c. FA Cup wins £0.15M (nil so far)
d. Contract extension £1.5M (achieved)
e. 20 (competitive) caps for England £0.5M (currently 17) - pending

Assuming that, without injury, he achieves those 3 caps in the next season and Man U win both the PL and CL the total received will reach £24.25M with the potential to earn a further possible £1.65M for a-c above next season.

So, thanks to Ronaldo we are doing better than we might have expected a year or so ago!

All we need now is for a major fall out with Fergie and Real/Inter to cough up £50M for him as we would get 1/3rd of the profit as well.

To summarise
Win PL lose CL £3.25M - extra £250K
Lose PL Win CL £3.5M - extra £500K
Win Both £3.75M - extra £750K
Lose Both £3M - no further payment
