When Rooney was younger it was always suggested he would not be playing top flight football into his 30's. If he is 28 now he will be 30 or close to it when his contract runs out. Would we be able to risk a big contract on him then.
I would have thought if he wants a big contract he will either have to renew his Utd one pretty soon or move next summer while his stock is high.

Its naive to actually beleive a striker can drop into a new position and excell, at the leverl we want.
