Messi clause must be met - La Liga
The 700m euros (£624m) release clause in Lionel Messi's Barcelona contract is still valid, says La Liga.www.bbc.co.uk
No way anyone will pay anywhere near that amount, so will it boil down to a battle of wills between Barca, their board, Koeman and Messi?
If they're not going to sell him, I could potentnally see Koeman being axed sooner than later because in the end they will have to side with Messi.
Seems like only suarez and vidal actually want him to stay?
i always thought he was close to the likes of pique etc but maybe not?
going on strike is never a good look imo
Yer i agree but only a fool would pay 200m for messi at this stage of his career imoI can imagine a lot of the Barca players are sick to death of him and want to see the back of him.
A bit like a spoilt kid who if he doesn't get all of his own way he throws a major tantrum and screams
the house down. He is good. In fact he is very good. However at 33yo he is past his best and there
is no hiding from that. He is the only saleable asset that they have that will help them get out of the
huge financial mess they are in - so why not sell him now? He's a free agent at the end of next season,
so a fee of circa £200m would be very good business me thinks and they rid themselves of a spoilt brat in the process.

We would probs give him special dispensationWouldn't mind him and his problem at Everton.
But the clubs most likely after him (PSG and City) might be prepared to take that on for the prestige of having him on the books. It would accelerate their 'brand' into the elite category and if they could back that up with a CL win or two, then that position in the established elite might be able to withstand the UEFAs/ FIFAs/ Complaints of the well established elite clubs themselves.Yer i agree but only a fool would pay 200m for messi at this stage of his career imo
wouldnt touch him with a barge pole at that Price
Fair points like, but alot of ifs and buts isnt it but get what ya sayingBut the clubs most likely after him (PSG and City) might be prepared to take that on for the prestige of having him on the books. Yep. I wanted Brentford to come up in the Championship, nope. I thought my baseball team was hiring a good manager, nope. I thought my American footy team was playoff bound, nope. I thought the person I voted for was a shoe-in, nope.I REALLY dislike him and want him to fail, which means he will probably succeed because I never get what I want
I think he'll be at Barcelona next season - I am 90+% sure of that. This'll blow over.Fair points like, but alot of ifs and buts isnt it but get what ya saying
