Read the Arhletic’s piece today and it was apparently Koeman telling Suarez he was surplus to requirements which has been the final straw for Messi.

I see Koeman's unique sense of man management is paying dividends again.
I am beginning to think he was indulged as a player every time he was awkward because he was very good. Perhaps he's never had to gain those skills as he was only exposed to a decent level of manager who knew how to handle someone so unaware?

Anyway, I await Martinez and Allardyce as future managers there. Would be hilarious if they went 100% Everton.

Dutch people are incredibly direct in their professional and personal dealings. If you aren't used to it it can just seem plain rude. So imagine instead of giving Biter the whole gold watch-wonderful servant to the club soft soap he simply told him straight he didn't think he was up to it anymore and would be shipping him out.

Then probably literally as the first line of the meeting told Messi his role had changed and he was now merely one of the lads.

I remember a fellow brit coming into the office one morning and our resident Dutchy remarking "I see you have had your hair cut!", said Brit asked "do you like it?" and here is where normal monday morning office conversation went straight off the rails.

"No. I think it makes you look ugly". The Dutch colleague genuinely thought she was being helpful, hoewver.
