Allardyce was a better manager than him, not even joking.
If this is confirmed, then they really are a club in meltdown. I don't understand why it's so important for them to give the job to someone with a club link.
Crazy for them not to go for Pochettino. That seems like a perfect fit.
I may be bias due to his time here
But Koeman has a big fat head with nothing in it
Couldn’t agree more. They are a basket case of a side right now and need stability and structure to their play, Pochettino would have instilled that. Koeman is a Barca legend, one of the greatest attacking defenders in the sport, but that’s not a reason to appoint him manager. If this is confirmed, then they really are a club in meltdown. Surprised Silva hasn't landed a "top job" since his time here. Even Allardyce was England manager (albeit for one game before joining us) and of course Mr "phenomenal" is somehow still in charge of Belgium. Depressing as hell. And now he's the Barcelona manager - Whilst another of our crap joke managers helms the best international team in the world
Finally Sigurdsson can prove he has a better left foot than Messi.I can see the headlines now -
Barcelona ready to splash the cash.
Mega money triple bid for Pickford, Sigurdsson and Bolasie, as Koeman raids former club
The elite clubs are perfectly capable of doing stupid things as well.
Doesn't bode well for Barcelona, smacks of sentimentalism rather than badly-needed, cold-hearted analysis taking hold.
Koeman was a great player, but he has never been more than another journeyman, very average manager. He has been very lucky on the back of a very mediocre managerial career.
He might ride the wave of a season or two at Barca, as they'll desperately need to give him time to avoid another go on the merry-go-round, but he won't engineer any big turnaround there.

Be interesting to see if he can adapt to their style of play. I like Poch
If it’s true Messi wants out I think he’s an absolute [Poor language removed] house. He’s dictated how that clubs run for years, people have lost their jobs just cos he didn’t like them and now he’s reaping what he’s sown to become the worlds best player and have an entire club set up to allow you to excel. I’m not taking anything away from his talent but he bullied Barça for years, I hope they make him stay and fester in the mess he’s helped to create
