Even so, I'd rather have their problem than ours.The only ways Messi leaves is if some oddball club from the east with an obscenely wealthy backer makes a bid or an Italian club (needs a slowish yet wealthy league - maybe a French team potentially, Germany and England are out due to their pace) offers a substantial pay deal that is subsidised by Barcelona who could at least recoup some of their outgoings on what is a rapidly diminishing asset (or indeed an increasing liability).
He's essentially a world class version of the Siggurdson problem.
