Ronald Koeman discussion

I live in the Canary Islands, my best mate is a guardia civil from Valencia, he hates Booman, and tells me that what is happening now at Goodison, is almost exactly the same as what happened there, he fell out with all the players and drove the likes of Mata and Silva out. I was really pleased when Booman got the job, but, probably because I remember him as a player.
Good players do not necessarily make good coaches, Alan Ball for example

Seems to be exactly the same with players like Barkley and Lookman

I share this concern. Sack Koeman now and get the next manager wrong, we could turn into a club that sacks it's manager every season. This only works if you have the funds of Chelsea or City.

We are between the proverbial hard place and a rock.

Yes, we are just one more bad appointment from becoming Aston Villa.

On the other hand this fellow is halfway to doing that already :(

Desperate days indeed.

We are nowhere near doing an Aston Villa mate let’s not get all melodramatic.

It's definitely not unrealistic though. We've flogged all our assets in terms of players and there's a chance the ones we've replaced them with aren't going to perform.

Put it simply, who in this squad could we recoup any money from right now? I don't think clubs would pay £20m or over for any of our players.

Well if we sack Koeman and make the wrong choice as manager then i'll be very worried.I also fear that Moshiri is the Iranian Randy Lerner. This is a very uncertain period for Everton.Hopefully Brighton this weekend will be the beginning of an upturn in fortunes.

Wasn't it Koeman who brought Mata into the first team? Also thought Mata was still there when Koeman was fired. ? I could be misremembering like as I'm not an avid follower of Valencia.

Then your mates a liar. How did he drive Silva put exactly? He played him every game he could and he had his most productive season for the club - and didn't leave until two years after koeman did, as for Mata - did he drive him out by giving him his first team debut and making him integral to his side? Mata himself has been full of praise for koeman as recently as two years ago.

There's enough ammunition already from Valencia without making stuff up which in fact was the opposite.

If anything his abandoning the veterans in favour of younger players is what wrecked him at that club.
