We are years away from this happening mate. I don't think this will decide him going to Arsenal or not. If they want him they'll go after him anyway. If it looks like we are a realistic chance of top 4 but say miss out because we havent got the deals over the line that might of made the differance. He is doing his part well but the club/players dont matchup
When we took Moyes we took a lower league manager who wasnt a big name, when we took Martinez we took someone that had just taken a side down, but this time we have taken a legend in the world of football who is now trying to make his name in management.
Arsene aint going to last much longer, since all they aspire to is the 4th place trophy they wont get a top manager such as a Pep but could go for someone who like Ronald
It's a small point but most credible journalistic sources have said he's on £6m not £7m.He obviously thinks that picking up a £7m salary from Everton
True but unless Everton significantly improve I can't see Arsenal coming in for him.We are years away from this happening mate. I don't think this will decide him going to Arsenal or not. If they want him they'll go after him anyway.
You've accurately pointed out @davek contradictory stance on the credibility of Nicholas and undermined him in doing so but that doesn't address his central point.Dave I think you ought to take your own advice from 2013
Mate, for me he's done nothing in a big league, and, were it not for his illustrious playing career, there'd be nobody in here excited by his appointment. Just my opinion.True but unless Everton significantly improve I can't see Arsenal coming in for him.
For that matter the idea of RK going to Barcelona is fanciful to say the least. He was a massive player for them but has done nothing in his lengthy managerial career, thus far, to suggest he's on that level.
If he get's us up to Champs league level, of course, that could well change.
He has finished 6th two seasons in a row with Southampton mate, its not bad going considering the resources they have (compared to the teams that finished above them) and with Liverpool signing every decent player they had. All things considered we have been average for over 20 years so we was never going to get an elite manager. We could of went down let say the Eddie Howe route, but I think Koeman was appointed not just for his managerial skills but with also the hope of who he could attract to the club because of his world recognition in the game.Mate, for me he's done nothing in a big league, and, were it not for his illustrious playing career, there'd be nobody in here excited by his appointment. nailed it there mate, when rumours like this start about anything EFC related, they are almost invariably true, next one will be new stadium hits snag, followed quickly by Moshiri being revealed as actually residing in a bedsit in Manchester......it is all so predictably EvertonYou've accurately pointed out @davek contradictory stance on the credibility of Nicholas and undermined him in doing so but that doesn't address his central point.
Nicholas has many connections in the game and coupled with RK's recent public utterances, particularly on Lu, it is quite suggestive of the fact that RK may be an unhappy chap.
If that's the case hopefully it will soon change but it doesn't detract from the fact that he may well have been miss sold the project in relation to the level of player funds available.
He's done well at Southampton. Don't get me wrong, I have said on numerous occasions even Pep world struggle to do much better with this Everton squad. He has finished 6th two seasons in a row with Southampton mate, its not bad going considering the resources they have (compared to the teams that finished above them) and with Liverpool signing every decent player they had. I agree with that. It's always my rule of thumb too. For example on the eve of the last 2 seasons as news of the Barkley and Baines injuries were breaking, no one wanted to believe it and it was dismissed because it came from twitter initially, but that turned out to be true.nailed it there mate, when rumours like this start about anything EFC related, they are almost invariably true, next one will be new stadium hits snag, followed quickly by Moshiri being revealed as actually residing in a bedsit in Manchester......it is all so predictably Everton
Not many.I wonder how many would swap him right now for Unsworth?
I wonder how many would swap him right now for Unsworth?
Yes but that's normal in the game ,Ruud Gullit, Souness, Roy Keane, Peter Reid, Bryan Robson to name a few great players who have been giving continuous opportunities on their playing reputation and failed as a manager. He's done well at Southampton. Don't get me wrong, I have said on numerous occasions even Pep world struggle to do much better with this Everton squad.
But I stand by my statement. His name as a player has given him Managerial opportunities, and a presumed status, his managing hasn't warranted.
Come on Zat, Its better than 'phenomenal' comments, and these modern day players need an effing spine and deal with the truth instead of everyone blowing smokes up their hoops!!I would, in a shot.
Today could go either way + hes just come out and said Jagielka hasnt been doing well which wont help Jags fragile confidence...
