Absolutely agree with you. The issue I have is that some players seem like they have grown complacent. They know that regardless of performance, they will be in the lineup for the next game. Throwing Holgate and Davies in there for the odd game, even half an hour here or there would give the likes of Jagielka and McCarthy a much needed kick up the arse. I couldn't give a toss if the kids aren't as good as who they're replacing, but it will give them an incentive to train even harder and the complacent first teamers food for thought and a reason to actually fight for their place.
