Ronald Koeman discussion

There's another thing he said there that was glaring to me: he stated that people want to get away from the way of playing in the previous two seasons. What we actually want is to keep the attacking prowess of the team and have a sounder defence; we dont want to ditch the whole thing and bring in a way of football that leaves us sterile and lacking in creativity, which we are now.

Of course, all that goes to the heart of the issue for me so far with Koeman: the claim he's added a defence - he hasn't. The back four are still dire and all he's done is to play a lot deeper and more conservatively.
I'm afraid not. The team of last year and the year before was the worst I had ever seen. This one is shaping up like a Moyes one in the early years

Again then what is a good job?
He is 12 games into a season with a new club what are you expecting?

I think by now he should know his best 11, which he clearly dosent, where we are in the table is to be expected but some of his team selections are poor.

"Everton is a big project but not an easy one."

WTF?

He;s got a squad of internationals there and apparently the cash to buy rubbish like Bolasie.

Imagine this feller if he had the Bournemouth job, he'd be hiding behind the couch sucking his thumb.

This, Mr Koeman, is a job that's relatively easy to get right with a few quid spent here and there. Stop making it sound like you've just been asked to take the Dog & Duck to the Champions League.
Having a squad of 'internationals' is no guarantee of success. Like club football some players gain caps not through being the best but by being the best suited to do the task the manager requires for the team. Conversely some outstanding players never gain caps for the same reason. It is a question of building a team best equipped to implement the coaches style of play. Koeman has just begun,it will take time. Traditionally ,barring disaster, a manager is allowed 3 seasons to get it right, Koeman is'nt even half way through his first. Some patience is required something you appear,at present,to signally lack.
Your view of defending seems deliberately naive. Defending is what the team does when not in possession, not just the back four. Successful clubs defend well as a whole team. In that regard we have definitely,in my opinion, improved.

I think he does know his best 11 but they just aren't good enough bar maybe 3-4 players, we have been average at best the past few weeks. I think were he has failed so far is getting the team to start in the first half and not only after HT

The days of managers getting three seasons is from a previous generation, he'll get six months at most.

Even now, people have turned against Koeman.

Patience is not common in today's support, they want blood.

Martinez took us to the depths, Koeman has a tough job building it back up.

At the moment he is dealing with a load of under achievers who have been living in cloud cuckoo land for the last 2 seasons of listening to footballs equivalent of Walter Mitty.

Mosh wanted him so will stick by him for 2 seasons at least.

He gets rid of him after 6 months it looks like he screwed up. He gets rid of him after 2 years and it will be because Koeman wasn't doing it.
