bit silly now this. Seems to me that one or two suggested it and the general consensus is now to jump in on anything koeman says or does.
1. Suggests our record breaking striker should go and play for the highly successful Barcelona? the same barca who win the top trophies? And this is over playing for mid table everton?
2. Suggests the team top of the league, scored the most goals and looking good in the process is currently the favourite for the league? Wow, almost like just stating the bleeding obvious there.
3. Wants to manage Holland? I'm sorry, if nothing else, i think i missed the point where he moved to a worse team this summer simply because it paid more.
After the martines debacle, just seems like it is forum standard now to be on the managers back over anything and everything. Hell it is even spreading to other areas, don't want depay because united don't want him, but happily want that other french player they don't play either.

Setting us up for challenging for Europe would be an improvement on the last two seasons, and if he said we're challenging for the CL it would not be a reflection on our playing squad compared to others and make him vulnerable. He has to be in the mix and then with a couple of windows he has to bring some improvement to the first 11. I was angry with his Lukaku comments but not with the rest of it. His Lukaku comments were translated wrongly to make them look worse, as it turns out, in all fairness, also. I think he will want us to be challenging the top 4 seriously next season. He needs a little time to create some momentum. He's just managing expectations and being a little realistic. We were awful at the back-end of last season! Signing the likes of Depay and some unknown gems would give us a massive lift going into the second half of the season. Who says we can't still achieve top 4? If we're top 5-6 and in touch come February his public comments might change regarding challenging for the Europa League.
Well no, Koeman said that - in an interview to ESPN. The same interview, if i'm not mistaken, in which he mentioned Liverpool as title contenders.

I'd say he can only get away with that if he's pulling up trees here and getting us extraordinary results and league positions. He isn't.
