We should have been buried at City, Burnley should have been buried by us, West Ham won the first half, but didnt, we won the second, and did.
He is a difficult man to warm to, (unlike Martinez for the record), but he has a reassuring capability that I kinda like.
Cant recall the literary reference in some football book, but he is like a Step Father that you dont like, in an avuncular way, but you reckon he will be good to your Mum.
Have to agree with this. He isn't as alluring or enigmatic or animated as Guardiola, Mourihno, Klopp or Conte. There isn't really a recognised ''Koeman" style of football, it certainly isn't mentioned as much as other managers' play styles.
But he has a way of getting results. Sometimes it's pretty, sometimes it's ugly. His attitude towards Barkley sums his attitude. He has been blunt with him, some would say harsh. He and we know he has the flair, but if he's not working for the team he's not getting in team.
Koeman's redeeming quality that stands out is his assurance in his decisions. So far in his management I haven't seen a situation where he hasn't been assured. He doesn't panic. And when things don't go right he will account for it.
He doesn't have an exotic name, he doesn't have a exuberant character, and his football is more reserved than riveting. But I believe he's honest, instinctive and an efficient problem solver.
Modern football favours style over substance. But in some situations, style alone isn't going to win you football matches.
