Ronald Koeman discussion

It's only a matter of time. He's gone in the eyes of the players, fans, media and the bookies. Pre-season performances were passed over in the main without much comment given the new arrivals and qualifying games.

We got lucky at home v Stoke first game as we'd been outplayed for first 30mins, played well against City in the first half. Got smashed by Spurs, out smarted at United, lucky v Bournemoth, embarrassed by Burnley...Atlanta laughed at how bad we were, couldn't beat a mid table Cypriot journeyman team and beat a shocking rabble representing the Mackems. Last won away in the Prem at Palace with a late goal and never looked like winning any other game on the road.

He won't get to January. But he's too arrogant to stand down and admit he's not up to the job. Moshiri backed him Friday so by my reckoning he gets the next two games before the inevitable happens.

Why wait though? It's become toxic. The board should just do business now and discard with him - in a taxi if that helps - this week will just prolong the pain unless we do. Do one Ron, do one.

Pity it's going to take us going out of the europa and the league cup before they realise he's not up to it

Well I have little truck with unhappy players if I am honest. They are employed and paid well by football clubs. They should do their best.

But. If their boss, who is also paid well to make them win football matches, cant seem to do so, well, thats end game.
That's really what it comes down to. A lot of professional players, in any sport, don't like their coach/manager. Thing is, they respect enough, or fear enough, to play.

In short do you think RK should stay or go ASAP?

Go mate. Now. Not in 3 games time. Now.

As you’re aware I like to give them all a fair chance but there comes a time when our season depends on making a change and that’s now for me.

We won’t though. I see no real pressure from board level on him at all. Not that i would see it I suppose. I just doubt there is any.

You are a veritable Job....:pint2:
From Dec 2016
I'd give it to Unsworth (with Royle) to the end of season and see what he can do. Frankly on what we've seen so far he can't do worse. He's also done a top job with U23's and handled himself really well at the end of last season.
Nothing's changed apart from the fact the guys blown £170 million since then! Depressing

It kind of feels like dying a slow horrible death watching Everton at the moment, and with Arsenal and Lyon up next. This could get a lot worse before it get's better imo.Make no mistake about it were in trouble. The performances we are seeing with our very eyes and the league table at the moment is proof enough of that.
He’s gone mate. To think he can turn it round now is beyond his capabilities.

Rightly or wrongly (& it’s the latter) the players know it so we go through the motions of a slow inevitable outcome. We ain’t going to turn it round and play scintillating attacking football and win games - because that’s what he’s need to survive. He’s done the senior players session, had a few come out in support, it’s us not him thing - not many mind you! - had an international break and time to reflect and prepare for this game - then we get the same.

Narrow, nervous in possession, no running behind or creating options for the man on the ball. No use of a large squad to change it and a flat insipid uninspiring and frankly embarrassing display.

As I say, it’s only time that prevents the inevitable. Board know it but don’t want to appear hasty and know thry’ll Have to dig deep in compo to lose him and another squad overhaul after that. No wonder they want to take their time.

If Moshiri backed up his fine words with actions Everton would be looking for a new manager this weekend.
