He wasn't constantly criticised though. He was asked why Ross was subbed at Sunderland at HT. He replied honestly saying he couldn't keep the ball and was giving it away. He stated that Ross is not a young boy anymore and should be showing more than he currently is. I don't see anything wrong.
He did improve to what stage he was at. He actually tried to win it back which should come natural. He didn't lose the ball as much. There was a definite improvement.
Looks to me like Ross wants to do what he wants to do and takes umbrage at being told what to do which is silly as quite a few managers have said the same thing.
