yeah stoke were toothless (that may be why that formation was chosen in the first place) but they were difficult to penetrate in the first half, they sat very tight. When things opened up in the second half we did look better. We would look better again with a mobile striker as fat boy Roons has great vision and can pick a pass.Can't argue with the results and I respect him for admitting he got it wrong initially, but we could have been in big trouble in the first half against a better team than a toothless Stoke. But with the fixtures we have coming up three points was essential and we got it so fair play.
I just posted in another thread that it seems the problem now is that we simply have to many good players! A good and unusual problem to have for us, but it really felt today like Koeman didn't want to leave anyone out and thankfully it didn't effect the result. Whilst I'm not against the signing, I can't work out right now where exactly Sigurdsson fits in and more crucially.. who's place does he take? Perhaps we'll see more rotation once we get into the thick of it with both domestic and european football at the same time.
