Ronald Koeman discussion

I just don't get this early preseason excuse. How come the RS are running round like spring lambs, pressing all over the park for 90 minutes -- and beating top sides as a result? Are we really so undertrained and unfit still as to be looking that laborious in our play? Tonight we were second to nearly every loose ball.

They're not playing competitive games in preseason

Against teams ahead of us/them in preseason or into their full seasons.

Didn't see this attacking football we always come to play.. more like slow, laboured and turgid foot egg.

Will obviously take 1-0 wins everywhere if it wins us some bits etc, but honestly I expect and want the football to improve... which hopefully Koeman can see and want too.

I'd say Sandro was the weakest of the three but Rooney was very ineffective and continuously made bad decisions on the ball. Sandro should have probably had a partner up top (DCL) to give him some space as Rooney just came deep and clattered with Klassen too often.

Rooney made the pass to Klassen for the assist.

And what about the other 85 minutes of the game? One moment doesn't define the whole game. Rooney made a nice turn and almost botched the pass to Klassen. Rooney needs to play much better than he has in these two legs or he doesn't deserve a spot in the 1st team.

Maybe their players are better and fitter than ours?
