I wouldn't call it 'a lot' better. Marginal improvement this season. We are lucky things played out they way they did to qualify for Europe.

The fact that I enjoy going the match again to me makes it vastly superior to the last two season's. If you don't win the cup the runs themselves mean jacks##t. Those four places that you just dismiss make a hell of a difference to a lot of us.

Overall I am happy that we have Koeman, some of his decisions I find mystifying but what do I know, the business houses league was my level, I am sure our Dutch Ruler knows more about footy than me. I hope he stays to see the job through.

For what it is worth I found Martinez to be a dreamer and a fantasist and I am sure the players saw through him in the end.

There is a danger of believing we are better than we are, and that our manager is better than he is, by constantly putting the season in context of the last two woeful league campaigns.

It will be interesting to see how many will be tolerant of Koeman if he has a difficult second season. He must feel some pressure to make sure this summers recruitment is the best it can be.
