We'll see. The contract is running down for a reason. Personally, I think he'll be feeling his next contract needs to be with a CL qualifying team and he'll want to be playing there regularly on the cusp of a world cup appearance too.

From what I'm hearing Dave, there's going to be some serious money to spend on transfers in the Summer.

This season has been about sorting out the mess that Martinez left behind and getting rid of fringe players on big money.

Maybe he knows this, which the tone of his interviews has become more conciliatory of late ?.
