Romelu Lukaku

He’s one of the best goalscorers in the league who has just earned a step up and that can take some adjustment so if he is 1 goal in 2 then that’s not bad at all. No need to be bitter children as you got big cash for him.

The goals aren't the issue. At the highest level, you need more strings to your bow and Lukaku is woefully lacking.

There's not an ounce of bitterness from me. Indeed, I couldn't believe how much we got for him and was willing for him to go. And for him personally the move made total sense and even if I rated him I wouldn't have begrudged him going one bit.

I simply don't rate him as a footballer. I think he's an astonishing goalscorer and that has carried him a long way, and he'd be unstoppable for counter-attacking sides where he's not relied on to link play and intelligently move into space in front of the back line as well as behind it. But he's not that player, which is why he's badly limited and United are finding that out now.

I only care so far as to highlight to the irrational fanboys of his who seem to idolise him and are blind to his faults. As for the player himself, I wish him well and hope he milks enough money out of his limited ability from fools who will pay him for it.

No mush I can tell you don’t care with your 4 paragraph response to my factual post.

Your post isn't factual. It won't "take some adjustment" as he has failed to make adjustments to his game his entire career.

And I said I care only so far as pointing the above out to fanboys of his like yourself.
Mush how many goals did he score for yous? Your last striker who scored that many for you? Just because he left for Manchester United doesn’t mean you need to be so salty you strange little un.

My laughter will be uproarious if we have him off on NYD after what happened last time, but looking at our attack and his current need for goals, I suspect I know what's coming here.
Lock it in.

Whats silly about this is post is a lot of us didnt like or rate him even before he left, when he was getting his dead rubber tap in's and 3rd and 4th goals in a 4 0 win. Everyone knew he was going, he was open about it, so following on with his promise and going wasnt hard to take

No I can assure you what’s silly is you pretending you didn’t like your best striker in eons mush. End of chat.

He's crap mush

Yes, I'd like to congratulate Lukaku on the same amount of goals as a past it 32 year old Rooney in a terrible Everton side despite having three more games to beat his total in a much superior side and playing considerably worse than Wayne overall.

World class. Truly. We miss him greatly.

I can only conclude fom your previously posted opinions and tone of this post that you're suggesting here that we in fact don't miss Lukaku greatly.

Can someone post some links from RedCafé in here.

They're gold.

Lets just say, they're not very big fans of Rom.

The majority don't seem to rate him, this is just from one random page I picked from the last few days.

Altidore in a United shirt is a bit brutal.

Morata is not a liability in defending. Kane is sublime in scoring and assisting play.

Lukaku offers neither of these well. He is not really making a case for us to not pursue a striker in the summer or worst case, the next.

The one time we gazump Chelsea for a player, we still lose.

He will unfortunately get another season as we have other problem positions to fill, but for a club of our stature, it wouldn't be out of order to bid for a top class striker and bench him or even let him go if he doesn't like it. Such an incredibly limited striker, he's just one or two levels above Chicharito perhaps and that ain't enough.

If £75 million gets you this, money can't solve our problems.
Everyone was saying he has a terrible first touch, no hold up play and terrible balance and they were right. I just don't understand what our scouting department does. Couldn't they have stopped this with a simple checklist of abilities he doesn't possess.

How do you make it as a pro with such a terrible first touch. Lukaku is woeful

Not [Poor language removed] but from brilliant either.

Six months and 70m quid later it looks like we already should be thinking about bringing in a genuine world class centre forward.

Offered absolutely feckall today, looked like Jozy Altidore in a United top.

Perhaps three points difference. Statistically we've only scored four fewer goals this season at the same point as the last, and three fewer points. I'd rather have the £90m than what he offers.

We've missed Barkley and Coleman far more in my view, as they helped the transition in midfield as well as providing defensive quality and width respectively.
